MY IHSW WEEKEND

Well after I finished stitching round that long hem on Caitlin's kilt I did manage some more stitching on Yellow Bird. Here is my prgress before I found I had a mistake and had to do some frogging!  It is a lovely design and I am enjoying stitching it, have plans to of what I will make it up into but meanwhile that cant be shared, however all will be revealed at a later date.

Is anyone else interested in stitching this La D da design? I am happy to make it a travelling pattern when I  finish and send it on its way for others to enjoy. please post a comment  and let me know if you are interested. Short posting tonight will try and get back later in the weekl and share my visit to Wellington with you.

Here is Caitlin stitching on her piece and making good progress. She was here stitching on Sunday  and came home after Junior Embroiderers today and is staying over night so we will both be having a stitching session in the morning. Happy stitching everyone.

IHSW....

Its IHSW again and my stitching plans were changed when a family request came... could I put the hem back up on Caitlin's kilt, school uniform and needed for Monday! I found last term the hem had come down and double side tape was used to keep it in place, I might add it had done a pretty good job. Well it now re stitched, I was taught to use herringbone stitch on heavy fabrics so stitching it was not a problem but do you know how much fabric there is round the hem of a kilt.
That done I have decided to stitch La D Da "Yellow Bird which I started while away last weekend."Here's how much I had managed to do....

Back at the end of the weekend to report my progress. Caitlin is coming in tomorrow afternoon so we will be both be stitching birds together , she is working on another blackwork bird.
Till then Happy stitching

EASTER GREETINGS

I hope everyone has had a truly enjoyable Easter weekend, here we have enjoyed blue skies and sunshine .. a late touch of summer, making the most of the good weather we have had a few very restful few days.
I have managed a little stitching and will have photos to show as soon as the pieces reach their destinations.
The carpet finally went down in the front room and we were able to put the doll's house and other furniture back, so at last the lioving room looks normal again. Stll have to finish sorting everything that was store up there... will take a while as it is a good time to sort out and only keep what is really needed! Here is one of the items waiting for me to decide where to hang it this time around, as yet we have not put any picture hooks up on the freshly painted walls in the front room.
Little Bunnies.... a needle painting using DMC threads on hand dyed silk fabric.
