ANOTHER ALBUM

I have added another Album to my blog, this is a collection of embroideries I have stitched over the years of small birds. These are all New Zealand birds except for the little goslings. Mostly they are stitched seperatly and then mounted in their settings.

WINTER'S REWARDS

The extremely cold winter has brought some rewards,I have three small clumps of English Snowdrops flowering at present. This is the most blooms I have ever had.
Possibly the cold weather has suited them.
Unfortunately I have not been able to get a photo as I cannot get close enough with my digital camera - I miss not having macro lens.
I thought this quote quite appropriate -
"The flowers of late winter and early spring occupy
places in our hearts well out of proportion to their size."

WINTER

Now that the weather is colder the small birds are visiting my garden more often and from my chair near the fire I can watch the little wax eyes in the native green clematis that is growing up the veranda post, they flit between the clematis and the callicarpa bush beside it, enjoying the last of the tiny purple berries on that bush.

There is snow on the mountain and yes we all comment on the cold weather! however winter brings pleasure of its own like sitting by the fire enjoying the company of friends, stitching and sharing ideas together. resent visitors fron Coromandel meant we had several days doing just that and after they left I was quite inspired with new ideas.
